Bisalpur Dam, which supplies drinking water to many districts of Rajasthan, is moving towards its full filling capacity. Bisalpur Dam is the largest drinking water project in Rajasthan. This provides water supply to many districts including Ajmer, Jaipur and Tonk. The land is irrigated through its canals. Water from Banas, Dai and Khari rivers mainly comes into this dam.
Water inflow increased from Triveni to Bisalpur
At present all three rivers are flowing at full capacity. Due to overflowing of all the major dams in the catchment area of Bisalpur Dam, Chittorgarh and Bhilwara districts, there has been a rapid inflow of water into the Banas River. Hence now the water level of the dam has reached RL 315.30. The total fill capacity of the dam is RL 315.50 m.
Gates will be opened on Friday morning
According to sources, there is full hope that the gate will open on Friday morning. The department has started preparations for this. Along with this, any kind of movement has been banned in Down Street. It is noteworthy that earlier Bisalpur Dam was filled in 2022.
